Craig & Rhodes are experienced in the design of sewer reticulation mains and drinking & recycled water reticulation mains in accordance with the design requirements of Sydney Water and other water supply authorities.

 We are listed as an approved designer by Sydney Water and are authorised to undertake designs of sewer and water mains ranging from reticulation mains to sewer & water carrier mains.

In addition we can undertake sewer & water main designs in those areas outside Sydney Water’s control where the Local Government Area is the Water Supply Authority.

 We are able to design all sewer and water reticulation mains that may be required as a result of development or subdivision from a two lot to 100 lot subdivision.

Our industry contacts also allow us to recommend the appropriate Water Service Coordinator for the project.

The provision of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUDS) facilities in new developments form an important element of new civil projects.

Craig & Rhodes staff have undertaken tertiary studies in Environmental Engineering and this exposure allows us to provide innovative design options for the provision of WSUD facilities such as gross pollutant traps, bioswales, creek line reconstruction, rain water storage, BASIX calculations and On site detention systems.

In order to limit the impact of development on drainage catchments due to the increase in hard surfaces and subsequent rainfall runoff most Local Government Areas now require the provision of On Site Detention systems on development sites.

Using a range of specialised hydraulic modeling programs we can design OSD systems to accommodate a range of stormwater management situations for both above and below ground OSD systems.

Utilising the latest software packages Craig & Rhodes can undertake the modelling of watercourses and natural flow paths to determine the expected 1:100 level of stormwater in a flood event.

Typically software such as "Drains" or "Hec Ras" is used to model the storm event and flows to establish the flood level in the nominated storm event.

Once modelled, the flows are analysed to allow a depth and width of the flow to be established and as such, determine the impact of a particular flood on a site.

Craig & Rhodes are experienced in the supervision of road & drainage works together with administration of civil contracts such as AS4000 & AS 2124 as the superintendent under the contract.

This roles allows us to ensure works are undertaken in accordance with design, specification & in accordance with tendered rates.  

Contract period using Microsoft Project and variations are also considered in our role.

In addition we can also prepare Bills of Quantities & Schedules of Rates for tenders, tender analysis, progress claim assessment, site inspections & final certificates.

Craig & Rhodes staff include certified RTA Traffic Control Work Site designers.

This allows us to prepare Traffic Management Plans for construction sites on existing roads to ensure the establishment of a safe work site.

 We can also audit and manage the work site safety to ensure compliance with traffic directions and management.
